Mindfulness

Yesterday, I wrote about my pledge to sensuality, my desire to fully seize and experience life. One thing I have realized is my propensity to try and work on 3-4 tasks at once. I watch TV, fold clothes, read email and drink tea, all at the same time. What happens is I no longer do any one of these activities well. And, I when I finish these things, I find only one really caught my attention. I either didn’t see what happened on TV or had no idea what my tea tasted like or didn’t really pay attention to what my friend said in her email. I think one key reason I haven’t fully lived is because my attention has been distracted and divided. I think to really achieve what I want, I have to be single-minded. I need to give my attention fully to one task at a time. That is when I can really achieve that moment of Carpe Diem.

To be able to focus on the present is something that takes a little time to perfect, but is totally worth it when you do. Life blooms and becomes a rich atmosphere with a heightened sense of awareness and a much more meaningful experience, less of a task.

You’re right. This is more than a 30 day experiment. But, I’m sure even after just 30 days, I’ll see a difference in my outlook.
You sound like you know what you are talking about.
