What is a Life Coach

Friday, November 20th, 2009

Some of you have been around long enough to remember when I first started working with my life coach, Jennifer Priest. Some of you might not even know what a life coach is or does. So – I thought for those of you who don’t, I’d break it down. (Check out her FAQs here.) (more…)

Life Coach, Gratitude, Change & More

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

I can’t believe July is almost over! The year is half gone. I don’t think I’ll ever forget 2009. I never imagined or anticipated the major changes in my life. I’d started out the year hopeful my marriage could be saved. I was desperate to not let it fail. I tried about everything I could think of to salvage it. But – you can’t force change on the unwilling and some things are just not meant to be.

Looking back on what’s happened so far, I’m amazed. (more…)

Tough Questions

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

Monday was my regular session with life coach, Jennifer Priest. (If you’ve missed the conversation, please catch up here.) It was a tough session. I had to face a major personal decision I made recently. Jennifer, with her questions, dissected each answer I gave and forced me to analyze my actions to see if I’d really made the right decision for me. Even days later, I am still thinking of her questions. (Can you hear the doubts?) (more…)

Life Coaching Progress

Friday, March 27th, 2009

It’s been four days since my last session with Jennifer. (If you aren’t sure what’s going on, you can catch up here.) As part of our last session, I committed to applying for 11 freelance writing jobs, writing on my novel at least 30 minutes a day and continuing with the goals set from last week. (more…)

Progress with Jennifer Priest, Life Coach

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

I have my next session with Jennifer Priest later today. I’m pumped and ready! To recap, we had decided I would spend time working up an online resume/portfolio for freelance writing and web-related services, as well as a few hours devoting myself to an additional project I have in the works. I want to hold myself accountable to you as well, so I’ve decided to share these goals and my progress here.

I have purchased the domain name and set up web space for the online portfolio. I set up a blog using WordPress 2.7.1 and have selected a theme fitting the site’s purpose. I have also created several pages to have a structured feel to the site and have organized my thoughts concerning what the content should be. I’ve also contacted my previous editor regarding placing my work for them online. From this point, it is just a matter of sitting down for another 3-4 hours and getting all this content published to the site.

I also applied for a freelance position with a major website blogging a topic I am very comfortable with and would enjoy very much.

Just the fact that I have made progress is exciting me and I am very pleased to see results. I can’t wait to see how today’s call goes. Be expecting a post later today or tomorrow!
