Handbag Fetish, Anyone?
Ok – my first love is shoes. I can’t get enough of them. But after that, I love handbags. So, when I heard about Handbago, a new website devoted to all things Handbags, I thought I’d check it out.
At first glance, the site reminds me a bit of the fashion mags I read when I had more time (read: sans children) but devoted strictly to handbags. One section I already dig is “Ask Our Stylists”. I just loved the question about how to do 80s style right. (My opinion? Skip it entirely. I know it’s in right now, but it was hideous then and it’s hideous now.) Of course, the answer to any retro look is to echo the theme rather than doing a strict interpretation.
Handbago also has reviews done by both ‘experts’ and the average bagista (members of the website), which seem pretty cool. In the reviews I’ve read, they score the bag and discuss the overall elements and perhaps what drawbacks might be in the structure of the bag. What I’d like to see written is a “this bag might look pretty but is it practical” review. I loved loved loved one handbag back in the 90s but finding anything I put in it required the FBI, CIA as back up and deep space satellite technology. In other words – it was not practical. I spent many hours digging around for keys, wallets and anything else that happened to fall in it’s clutches.
My opinion on the site overall? Handbago is a fun place to kill a little time drooling over your fav handbags. Excuse me while I go back to drooling over the Valentino Patent Large Bow clutch on the home page.
Welcome back!
