So – the other day I had a little fender bender that totalled my Expedition out. Some of you may have heard of it. I have to say it out loud. Progressive, I heart you! Progressive has been the most amazing insurance company I’ve ever had the pain to deal with and they made the process of losing a vehicle as painless as they possibly could. I filed my claim online. I didn’t have to verbally ‘fess up to anyone. They called me. Fast. They arranged pick up and delivery of the rental car. They set me up with an auto body shop (with a 100% guarantee of service) AND got me an estimate of damage & cash value payout 24 hours after filing the claim. The next day (today), I went to their office, signed some DMV forms and went on my happy way with a nice little check to spend on a new vehicle. They even have a free concierge service to help me search for a vehicle and assist with finding financing if I need it. (By the way, I’m paying cash and won’t be chaining myself to a bank in this economy.) And every step of the way they have been nice to me. They don’t make me feel like I’ve committed the unpardonable sin by actually needing the insurance I’ve purchased. I haven’t always had that experience with an insurance company, so I felt it deserved some mention. Not to mention they were WAY cheaper than Allstate and State Farm, my past two insurance company nightmares……
Welcome back!

So did they pay you more than you owed on the truck? That is awesome. We priced Progressive not that long ago, but I got grandfathered in with Geico while I was in the military and now no one can touch our rates with a 12 foot stick, or a bucket truck for that matter. Looking forward to hearing all about the car you decide on and all the nifty features it comes with. I have had my car for almost 2 years now and just the other day I found something new that it does. It still amazes me.

I’m excited. We have a Passat and an Audi lined up to look at today. We are going with a used one we can pay cash for so we can get additional bills paid off with the money that was going towards my old car loan.
And then after a year, we’ll go looking for something else and have the car to trade in with a down payment….
