After a long absence…

After a long absence, I am back! I didn’t actually go anywhere, but the luxury of a personal blog is the option to write or not to write. When I’m writing for pay, there is the beauty of a deadline and cash reward to keep me clacking away on my laptop. Without the carrot and stick, however, I can choose to take a break as necessary.

Lately, I’ve been focused on potty training Tristan (who just provided me a 5 minute break). I’ve also kept my ear to the ground listening to whispers of presidential campaign talk. Although I do care about the election, I got a little worn down with the back and forth between Obama and Clinton. It will be interesting to see how it plays out between McCain and Obama. My hopes and bets are on the man of color – I think it is about time the White House referred only to the color of its paint.

By the way, for friends and family that read my blog, Austen has started walking. He will turn 1 this Sunday – I only wish that you could be here to celebrate with us. (And babysit for us on the 4th , which will be our 4th anniversary as well).
